Google Makes Up For Instant Search by Wishing You Happy Birthday

Birthdays on the Internet usually include numerous Facebook wallposts, IMs, and emails from people you typically never talk to. But this year you can make sure you get a greeting from someone you talk to every day. You don't even have to return the favor and wish them an awkward "happy birthday" back! Google will send you good wishes if you would just manage to fill out your Google profile already (they're waiting).

Each person who does will join the ranks of Pac-Man and John Lennon.

Per Mashable:

The special doodle will appear on google.com if you add your birthday to your Google profile and are signed in to the service on the special day.

Sad geeks around the world will now be logging onto their Google profiles the night before their birthdays just to make sure Larry Page and Sergey Brin send them their special message.

As the video shows, your Google profile will also have a cupcake and streamers all over it. Hopefully no one will Google you that day -- they might think that you put them there yourself. After all, you never want to be the one hanging your own birthday streamers at your Google party.
