Bristol Palin's "Forbidden Dance" Incites Man to Pump TV Full of Lead
We were just talking about how God-awful bad Bristol Palin's dancing skills are! (The only thing debatably worse might be her PSA-making skills.) A Wisconsin man, apparently, agrees. Via TMZ, 67-year-old Steven Cowan was "so enraged with Bristol Palin's performance on Dancing with the Stars" that he shot up his TV set, and then aimed the gun at his wife (hey, know where to draw the line, man!). 
Fortunately, she escaped. The TV, less so.
Local authorities claim Steven Cowan told officers that he felt Palin was not a good dancer and that she was only on the show because of her famous mother.
Valid complaints. Unfortunately, the SWAT team who surrounded the house and the negotiators who had to talk Cowan down during a 15-hour standoff have little do to with prime-time programming. Nor does a history of shooting one's television make one all that believable when one starts spouting off about conspiracy theories relating to Dancing With the Stars and such.
Cowan, who reportedly suffers bipolar disorder, could face up to 10 years in prison if convicted. Also, he probably should start watching some different shows if and when the new TV comes in. We find Law & Order reruns quite relaxing.
