If, like us, you're wondering whether the East Village is degenerating into a crime-ridden slum of yesteryear, you may want avoid this report from EV Grieve about a botched ATM robbery at the Chase branch on Avenue A and 2nd Street. A reader tells the blog that the intended victim, a woman, "beat the shit out of the guy and he left on a stretcher in handcuffs." Ha!
