Police say they arrested and charged a 55-year-old Brooklyn man last night, whom they suspect strangled a Bronx woman and stuffed her body into a suitcase.

CNN says 55-year-old Hassan Malik was charged with murder in the second degree late last night. The NYPD had previously released video of a suspect transporting the suitcase, which was found on 114th Street in East Harlem.

CNN also has video of police taking Malik into custody and replying "Yes," when a reporter asked if he was "sorry" for what he did.

The New York Post says police found Malik after a tipster recognized him from the surveillance videos. The paper also says Malik admitted to paying the victim for sex, and that law enforcement sources say he killed her after "he noticed she was taking more money."

CBS News earlier said the murder may have been a botched drug deal and that the victim, 28-year-old Betty Williams, "had a history of drug arrests."
