Nicholas Brooks Indicted in Death of Ex-Girlfriend Sylvie Cachay

Nicholas Brooks, who the New York Post keeps reminding us is a hard-partying stoner and the "son of accused serial-raping Oscar-winning composer Joe Brooks" whenever they mention his name (why not also mention "questionable facial hair"?), has been indicted in the death of his ex-girlfriend, swimsuit designer Sylvie Cachay, who reportedly broke up with him a day before she was found dead in a bathtub at the Soho House.

Neck trauma and bleeding in Cachay's eyes indicate to investigators that she was strangled and her death due to asphyxiation. Brooks, believed to be the last person to have seen her alive, is now being held without bail on the charges until a court appearance on January 4, reports the Post.

poor nicholas brooks!  his father was a sociopath and sent his sister, amanda, back to live with her mother in england when she was 14.  nicholas was ordered to have no contact with either his sister or susan paul, the children's mother, from that point forward.  joseph brooks was verbally and emotionally abusive, and enjoyed the company of much, much younger women and a multitude of prostitutes.  nicholas is emotionally stunted and turned to drugs and booze to soothe his pain.  it's not surprising to me that he couldn't handle sylvie's attempt to break up with him.  of course, i'm not excusing what he allegedly did to her, but this poor guy's life was shattered at the tender age of 8.  nicholas is another victim of joseph brooks...he sure didn't light up too many lives of his own did he??
