Ousted from Times Square, Local Hero Returns to Jersey Shore to Execute "Snooki-in-a-Ball"
Rest easy, friends, because our dear, displaced Snooki has found a home for New Years Eve! After being ousted from the Times Square ceremony in which she'd been "supposed to" drop in the ball "like a friggin' hampster," her homeland has taken her in again. Via the New York Times Arts Beat, she'll be involved in "a New Year's Eve stunt" in the Jersey Shore's very own Seaside Heights, produced by MTV, of course.
As she reassured her Twitter followers today:
The Times Square Alliance and Countdown Entertainment does not seem to have been as captivated by the idea of the self-described "reality star. author. business woman. boss lady ♡" being lowered into Times Square via ball for the big event as were some of the rest of us.
Via the Times,
"It was never intended or requested for Snooki to be in the actual New Year's Eve Ball in Times Square," the groups said in a statement. "The request to have her in a separate ball on a set-back roof came too late and was too impractical to fit in to our outdoor events."
Snooki's "descending ball apparatus" (wink wink; nudge nudge) is apparently in the works, with the pre-taped filming of the event happening as early as today.
