This Spider-Man Musical Is Never Going to Open, Is It?

Stop trying to make the "Spider-Man" musical happen. It's not going to happen. The troubled production (formally called Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark, with music from the minds of U2's Bono and Edge) is still in previews, but has pushed back its opening from the scheduled Jan. 11 to "sometime in February." We'll believe it when we see it.

Previews were supposed to begin this past January, but producers had trouble coming up with the $65 million needed to open the show. Then there was a two-week delay in November because they needed more rehearsal time, and when it finally began previews on Nov. 28, the first show was plagued with a series of problems (it was stopped five times due to technical issues, and one of the cast members was hit by a rope and suffered a concussion).
