SWAT Team Called to Lower East Side After Grenade Pulled

Bowery Boogie reports that SWAT teams closed off Norfolk Street and evacuated the building at 106 Norfolk, at Stanton, this morning when a resident apparently resisted arrest after a domestic violence call by pulling a grenade on the police. A tipster who wrote to them said, "Was rushed out super fast. Someone had a grenade and threatened to use it while resisting arrest was the word from the cops."

Yikes. No one was hurt, and residents have been allowed to return to the building. The cops told us that the grenade was inert, meaning it wouldn't have gone off... but still, people are "pulling grenades" now? Sheesh. More updates as we get them.
