Anonymous Threatens Egypt Amid Protests

Anonymous, the amorphous, anarchistic hacker group best known for their constant targeting of Scientology, as well as less admirable pranks like flooding YouTube with porn, have set their sights on the Egyptian government, per a new Anonymous press release. Days of unrest in the north African nation, including nonstop protests in the streets of Cairo, are thought to be a direct reaction to similar anti-government protests in nearby Tunisia, where Anonymous showed solidarity with protesters by taking down at least eight Tunisian government websites. Egypt could be next.

After a serious declaration that Anonymous "can not, and will not stand idly while people are being denied their basic rights and human liberties," including claims of the Egyptian people's "inhumane conditions" and "basic rights," Anonymous concludes:

We are Anonymous
We are Legion.
We do not forgive.
We do not forget.
Expect us.

Scary stuff.
