Bad Apple: iPhone Robber in Morningside Heights

​The punk in this unusually sharp surveillance photo is the suspect in a mugging and robbery in broad daylight on January 15 at 113th Street and Broadway, in Morningside Heights.

At about 1:15 p.m that afternoon, cops say, this scumbag, dressed as he is in this photo, tackled a 21-year-old guy, kicked him, and swiped his iPhone and wallet, before fleeing down West 113th.

Cops say he's about 6-0. As you can see, the jerk is in his 20s and looks reasonably stylish. Note the gray sweatpants with the word "CALI" on the left leg. He's a "punk" and a "jerk?" Grow up, man. If you have something flashy like an iPhone, someone's gonna take it. This guy's just more honest about what he's doing than the douchebag who takes it out of your bag in the gym.

Yeah, "more honest." Like kicking the shit out of a stranger and stealing his stuff? How about we call the guy who steals out of your gym bag a douchebag--that's cool. I agree. And then the guy who strongarms you out of your stuff--let's call him a punk and a jerk.

But how about YOU grow up and stop besmirching the name of one of New York's great baseball icons? I doubt that the real Willie Mays would agree with you.
