Jared Loughner in Poetry Class: 'Why Don't We Just Strap Bombs to Babies'
UPDATE 12:56 a.m.: Read the police reports on Jared Loughner way before he opened fire on Gabby Giffords and others.
Jared Loughner: Cops knew he scared people
Jared Loughner was so deranged before he went berserk and tried to kill congresswoman Gabby Giffords and killed several others that cops in Tucson already knew about his strange behavior in college--and the fears about him expressed by his fellow students, the Wall Street Journal says tonight.
This is not blood libel. Students were worred about physical violence from Loughner, according to campus records pored over by the Journal.
(Despite his known background, Loughner was able to buy a Glock that could fire 30 rounds at a clip. That's Arizona for you--speaking as a former Arizonan myself.)
Speaking of Loughner's nutcase behavior before his rampage, the Journal notes:
In February, a rattled student told police she feared Mr. Loughner had a
knife, after he upset a poetry-writing class by making comments such
as, "Why don't we just strap bombs to babies."
