The Daily Show host, who used his program as a forum to push for health care for September 11th first responders, has been rewarded with a place on the board of the forthcoming 9/11 museum and memorial, the New York Times reports in Friday's paper. "We see him as helping raise awareness, and we see that helping fund-raising," said Joseph C. Daniels, the president and CEO of the National September 11 Memorial and Museum, who also noted that Stewart lives close to the site, in TriBeCa, and has been "a passionate advocate of the 9/11 workers." Stewart said he was "humbled" after a meeting yesterday at Gracie Mansion, where Mayor Bloomberg noted that "Jon loves New York as much as I do." (But not more!) "I'm like their intern at this point," said Stewart. [NYT via Daily Intel]
