New Ugly Bowery Hotel Keeps Getting Uglier

And it hasn't even been built yet! We showed you the initial plans for 347-349 Bowery, once a Salvation Army, from architect Gene Kaufman after a $7.6 million sale to the Louzon Group, but that was just a working draft. Now, the Observer has Kaufman's updated vision, which includes "light up balconies that will shimmer at night," or in the words of Curbed, "glowing red tumors." Tourists will doubtlessly take many pictures, both before and after someone attempts to jump from one balcony to another. Toast to the future of New York City! [NYO]
