  • Today in Egypt: the Muslim Brotherhood, an Islamist group long banned by Egyptian authorities, is joining other opposition groups in meeting with Vice President Omar Suleiman. This represents a pretty important change in Egypt's politics. Meanwhile, in Cairo, Christians have planned a mass this afternoon in Tahrir Square. Muslim demonstrators will form a circle around them to protect them during their services. [NYT, CNN]

  • MTA worker Sabrina Scott was saved from the subway tracks by an unidentified man after "a clean-shaven lunatic attacked her on the platform." The mystery man fought with her attacker and then rescued the unconscious Scott from the tracks, where she had fallen. [NYDN]
  • A taxi ran into a woman on 69th and Broadway last night. The woman and the passenger in the cab were injured. [NYP]
