Teenager on Hunger Strike for Royal Wedding Invite Is Hungry

Not the First Time the British Empire Is Responsible for a Hunger Strike
19-year-old Estibalis Chavez has been camped outside of the British Embassy in Mexico City for over a week, refusing to eat. Her cause? She wants to be invited to Prince William and Kate Middleton's wedding. Will somebody please tell this poor girl that the royal wedding is stupid?!

"The Windsor Knot," The Today Show's website dedicated to the wedding, reports:

The Mexican teen hasn't eaten for the past eight days -- consuming only water -- in hopes that her bizarre, pathetic stunt will force Will and Kate to invite her to their exclusive wedding celebration.

By our count, this stunt is only slightly more "bizarre" and "pathetic" than having an entire website dedicated to the royal wedding. Seriously, Today Show, at least this girl is getting some fresh air.

The British Embassy hasn't acknowledged Chavez's struggle, despite her grassroots campaigning:

[She is] handing out fliers to strangers. "Are they going to let me die just because they wouldn't give me an invitation to the royal wedding?" Chavez wrote on one of the fliers. "This is my only dream," read another next to a picture of the smiling royal couple.

Ball's in your court, William and Kate. You know what's bad luck for your wedding day? Letting a teenager starve to death on the streets of Mexico City -- there ain't enough old, borrowed and blue shit in the world to make up for that.

The images of her show she is clearly a talented artist/painter. How about people show her there is more to life by commissioning her to paint their portraits? Those medieval leeches probably have zero artistic talent in comparison to her. Once she realizes she has a gift that people appreciate, she will find a new purpose to her life. Buy her paintings!
