Anti-Semitism Round-Up: Galliano Fired at Dior, Charlie Sheen's Jew Fight and More!

Natalie Portman, the Oscar-winning, ballet-dancing, pregnant lady has officially spoken out against fashion designer John Galliano for making anti-Semitic remarks. Not long after, Christian Dior officially fired Galliano in response to his Hitler praising comments in a Paris bar, which became famous on the internet. Portman, the face of Dior's Miss Dior Cherie fragrance, said in her statement, "I am deeply shocked and disgusted by the video of John Galliano's comments that surfaced today. In light of this video, and as an individual who is proud to be Jewish, I will not be associated with Mr. Galliano in any way. I hope at the very least, these terrible comments remind us to reflect and act upon combating these still-existing prejudices that are the opposite of all that is beautiful." (Portman should play Golda Meir for another surefire Oscar win!) But what's with all the anti-Semitism lately?

Charlie Sheen's public meltdown is the go-to story of the week. At one point early in the nonstop madness, Sheen came out against Two and A Half Men's creator, Chuck Lorre, saying, "I violently hate Chaim Levine." Sheen chose to use Lorre's Hebrew name not because he was Jew-bashing, but because he was trying "to address the man, not the...TV persona". Sheen is arguing that Lorre is trying to pull a Ralph Lauren (real name Ralph Liftshitz) and hide his religion through a new goyish name.

But now Sheen is the one demanding an apology of his own from the Anti-Defamation League. The ADL said that Sheen's comments were "borderline anti-Semetic" and according to TMZ, he's pissed about that. They say that "team Charlie insinuates the ADL should denounce Lorre for acknowledging his "disdain for the Jewish religion."

We reported earlier today about WikiLeaks' fearless leader Julian Assange's own Jewish rant. Assange charges the Guardian with creating a conspiracy against him at the hands of "journalist David Leigh, editor Alan Rusbridger and John Kampfner...all of whom 'are Jewish.'" Oy vey, Julian!

What's with all of these meshuggah people? It's not even Passover yet! Maybe Charlie Sheen is giving everyone a contact high. Our very own Michael Musto has some advice for Galliano, and it might be good for all of these offenders to hear: "A leader has to act responsibly. Fashion sense just isn't enough!" Amen, Mr. Musto.
