Apple Drops 'Gay Cure' iPhone App

The iPhone app meant to "provide support for individuals who want to recover from homosexuality" was initially approved by Apple for inclusion in the App Store, only to be removed after an outcry from groups like Truth Wins Out and Change.org, where a petition gathered nearly 150,000 signatures from those citing "objectionable content" they said should be uncool with official app standards. "Apple made a wise and responsible decision to dump an offensive app that demonized gay and lesbian people," said Wayne Besen, executive director of Truth Wins Out. Exodus International, the group behind the app, "reaches out to individuals who are struggling with unwanted sexuality." Unfortunately, they still have a website. [Mashable]
