OMG. OMG. OMG. Oprah, yeah, that Oprah, is letting us glimpse into her very personal Oprah world to see what the budding Oprah, she who would be the Oprah that we all know and love, was about! She has shared five whole pages from her "hand-written" (how else would they be written?) extra personal secret-time special-lady journals, publishing them in the April issue of O, The Oprah Magazine. In them, she gives us some totally PG stuff about her first boyfriend --

"Anthony asked me yesterday to go with him today. I answered yes. My only regret is my parents. Maybe I shouldn't have said yes but I wanted to, and my want overpowered theirs...I hated to go against my parents but Anthony is so perfect (almost). I couldn't say no."

And dishes on her experience filming The Color Purple!

"It was my solace and refuge during this most profoundly thrilling time," she says. "Every day I couldn't wait to get to set. And every night I looked forward to writing about it." In a July 12, 1985 entry she describes working on the film set: "Steven kept saying great -- great -- everyone was moved -- then Alan said part of it was in shadow or something. I prayed and prayed to be able to recapture the same energy, having Whoopi there to coax me on did help a lot."

That's not all, oh no. There will be more on O's iPad app, including Oprah's feelings about Teacher Appreciation Day!

OK, clearly she cut out the good stuff (note the blurring in the image above). But everything Oprah does has an effect on us, and so we were prompted us to uncover our own secret Runnin' Scared diary, to see what might be revealed. Our lives are not as exciting as Oprah's, of course, but there were juicy nuggets indeed!

January 24, 2011: We ordered pork soup dumplings from Grand Sichuan. They were good.

February 2, 2011: Chinese again.

February 9, 2011: Pants tight.

February 14, 2011: Valentine's Day. We all had a group hug. It was nice.

February 15, 2011: Blogging.

February 17, 2011: Blogging.

February 23, 2011: Still blogging.

February 25, 2011: Face hurts.

March 1, 2011: Coscarelli! (Blogging.)

March 2, 2011: Joe and Myles brought me cupcakes.

March 9, 2011: OMG! Secret pages from Oprah's diary!

March 9, 2011 [later]: Oprah's diary is a fucking snoozefest.

March 9, 2011 [even later]: Anybody want pork soup dumplings for lunch?

This is why it's important to keep personal journals. You never know what you might find publishable later.
