Staten Island Man Steals Vacuum Cleaner From His Own Mother

In what may be the poignant nonviolent crime story of the day, a 21-year-old Staten Island man named Christopher Scongamilglio broke into his mom's house -- twice -- and stole "a television, computer, two gaming systems and a vacuum cleaner, prosecutors allege." His mom had apparently kicked him out previously. After initially taking the electronics, he returned nine days later for a second gaming system and the vacuum cleaner.

We're guessing this sudden dedication to cleanliness is not enough to make up for his other thefts, or his additional arrest yesterday for possession of heroin. Nor the charges that ensued.

Via SILive,

Scongamilglio was charged with four felony counts of burglary, said a spokesman for District Attorney Daniel Donovan. He's also accused of misdemeanor counts of petit larceny, stolen-property possession and criminal mischief.

Plus misdemeanor drug possession for the heroin.

We're guessing Mom is not thrilled.
