Dominique Strauss-Kahn Has Nowhere to Live in NYC
The ex-IMF director was granted $1 million bail yesterday after being indicted on seven counts in the attempted rape of a hotel maid, but his plans to stay in a Manhattan apartment on East 65th Street while he awaits trial have fallen through, NBC New York reports. Dominique Strauss-Kahn is required by the terms of his bond to wear a monitoring ankle bracelet and live under video watch at a local residence. His wife thought she had something lined up at "the luxurious Bristol Plaza" for his release from Rikers Island today, but a lawyer now says "a lot has to happen" before Strauss-Kahn will see daylight -- or rain, actually. (Update: When the building heard who their new tenant would be, they said no thanks.) Hotels are presumably not an option, but if Brooklyn's allowed, there's always Bushwick.
