We hope you are all having an especially lovely Memorial Day weekend. In the midst of whatever you're doing, don't forget that today marks Manhattanhenge, that twice-a-year event in which the sun sets in perfect alignment along the city's east-west cross streets. This is very pretty (example at right), and you should arrange to see it, even if you do hit the beach first. Watch for it at 8:17 p.m. Viewing is recommended at 14th, 23rd, 34th, 42nd, and 57th Streets -- go as far east as possible while still having a view of New Jersey as you look west. If you miss this go-round, your next opportunity will be July 12. You can nerd out about Manhattanhenge here. [NYDN]
