Philip Chlanda, NYPD Officer, Killed Himself During Late-Night Fight With Girlfriend

"I love you," said NYPD cop Philip Chlanda to his girlfriend before killing himself in Manhattan early this morning. The New York Daily News reports that the officer, 29, was fighting with the woman after looking at her Facebook page, and the argument continued on West 36th Street near his squad car during a meal break. At around 3:20 a.m. he raised his weapon and killed himself. "He was left with the impression that she might leave him," said an NYPD spokesperson. "Nobody saw this coming." [NYDN]
