'Porno Paintings' Piss Off Prude Parents

Art inspired by Internet porn is very 2011, and the Lower East Side's Windows Gallery on Orchard Street is displaying just that, titled simply, "Porno Paintings." P.S.42 is right nearby and so the New York Post managed to get a few parents to complain. "I don't want to have to be answering questions in reference to those dirty paintings," said one mom, presumably ignoring the other detritus that remains on the much-improved, but still occasionally grimy LES. The NYPD has no official complaints and the gallery owner Dino Eli says, "Porn is the norm," but even city parents can sound like squares: "When little kids see that, they will ask questions," said one. Then comes the parenting, no? [NYP]
