Scientology Thunderdome: Commenters of the Week!

Please fasten your seatbelts. Enturbulation ahead.
What a fun week it's been for Scientology watchers! With just a few hours before the weekend starts, let's take a look at who impressed us the most with their comments, both for and against L. Ron Hubbard's wacky cabal!

First, on the anti side, we have this gem from Claireswazey, who reacted to Paulette Cooper making a statement about Tom Cruise winning a humanitarian award from the Simon Wiesenthal Center last week. Cooper is not only a Holocaust survivor, but also a survivor of probably the most frightening, coordinated campaigns of "fair game" ever perpetrated by Scientology on anyone. Nevertheless, defenders of Scientology were attacking Cooper for telling us she was outraged that Tom Cruise would be given an award by a pro-justice organization like the Simon Wiesenthal Center. Said Claireswazey:

And as for the best pro-Scientology comment...

I couldn't help being tickled by this one from Luz G., which was left on our story about the secret operation against Washington Post writer Richard Leiby:

Monday is another week! We have several stories working, and we can't wait to see what our commenters will have to say. Make us proud, on both sides of the issue!*

*Actually, there are quite a few different "sides" in what is happening with Scientology today. It has been pointed out to me numerous times that our reporting on Marty Rathbun, for example, seems to set off not only Scientologists, but also ex-Scientologist, classic critics, and even Anonymous (or maybe especially Anonymous). To which we reply: that's what makes it so fun!

There is nothing more cynical than $cientology's caterwauling about the treatment they are getting in Germany. Comparing it to what the Jews went through in the holocaust, in itself deserves the harshest punishment: It's almost a shame that Germany ain't what it used to be... If at all, it is the cult itself that thinks & behaves like a slave-driving totalitarian dictatorship.

So what IS Scientology? Well, you start with Dianetics, where you learn that you have this "reactive mind" that needs to be wiped out by a very expensive process called Auditing. Then, one day and a small fortune later, you realize that you just imagined (mocked up) that pesky "Bank" real good. Probably when you first read about it. Then you are declared CLEAR.

Then it's a mad dash to the upper, or OT levels. You learn about past lives, Xenu and the Space Opera, and your alien parasite infestation. Then, one day, well by gosh, you realize that you imaginated all that real good too. Now you're an OT8.

Then you keep getting busted down to OT7 so you can shell out more money for "case repair" and security checks -- because your failure to manifest god-like powers must mean you've got a hidden agenda to make L. Ron Hubbard look bad.

And there you have it. I just saved you a bare minimum of $360,000.00

I loved seeing that comment by Claire Swazey also, keep up the good work and the pressure Mr. Ortega.

Luz G. is one of Louanne's dozens of sock-puppet accounts and no matter what gender she is claiming to be at the time her posts are always lol-inducing.  Note how the Scientology "internet handlers" can never specify exactly what the "lies" are.

Thank you for the wrap up of the week, Tony. It's been lulzy, as is usual.

When will you cease and desist exposing these weasels and squirrels?

Never, I hope!

Is that a DC-8 flying from Coltice to the volcanoes of prison planet Teegeeack? If so, everything Hubbard said was true. I do believe in Xenu. I do believe in Xenu. And I'm so sorry I may have offended Louanne and her 157 sock puppet accounts.
