Sylvia Mitchell, NYC Psychic, Probably Deserved the $27,000 She 'Stored' for Dumb Customer

psychic-crystal-ball_1114702c.jpg
The former West Village psychic Sylvia Mitchell was arrested in an appropriately named Connecticut town called Mystic after a nearly month-long search since she disappeared with a bunch of a customer's money. Mitchell told a woman that she'd hold on to her $27,000 in an exercise meant to remedy the duped woman's attachment to money, but when the lady asked for it back (presumably cured), Mitchell only handed over $10,000. Then Mitchell split and opened up shop elsewhere. She was eventually found by a private investigator and now faces an array of charges in similar cases: A bunch of people say Mitchell ripped them off, but, to be fair, that's sort of her job, so our sympathy level is low. It's not there job to manipulate people it there job to help people.  I would say she did not do her job.  She abused her position and hurt people .  They did not deserve being duped for trusting in another human being.

Unbelievable.  The NYPD gets the case from Private Investigator Bob Nygaard and the story hits the newspapers with Sylvia Mitchell's picture.  Nygaard locates her in Maryland and the NYPD says they're too busy.  Meanwhile, a new victim sees the story, contacts the NY State Police, who track her down in Mystic, CT.  The State Police have local cops arrest her and begin extradition proceedings.  Nygaard found her.  NY State Police found her.  NYPD Sixth Pct Detectives still can't find her.  Hey, I'll give you guys a hint, she's wearing a orange jumpsuit that says "PRISONER".  Maybe, I should be a detective.
