Ted Kaczynski, the Unabomber, Under FBI Investigation for 1982 Tylenol Poison Murders

The Unabomber, real name Ted Kaczynski, has been back in the news lately because his things are up for auction by the government in order to raise money for his victims. But his retro moment isn't over yet: It's now being reported that Kaczynski is being looked into as a suspect in the 1982 poisoning of Tylenol bottles that led to a mass recall and nationwide panic, not unlike his other crimes. Kaczynski recently gave the FBI a DNA sample in relation to the unsolved Chicago case, which occurred near where Kaczynski's parents lived. The government cautioned, "Kaczynski has not been indicted in connection with the Chicago Tylenol investigation, and no such federal prosecution is currently planned," while Kaczynski's disclosure about the DNA came only amid a plea to save his things from being sold. "I have never even possessed any potassium cyanide," he wrote, though the guy's word doesn't really count for much. [TMB]
