This Week in the Voice: Catch the Summer Arts Guide

What is there to do in sizzling hot New York City? Everything, of course! This week's issue of the Voice is jam-packed with everything you need to know to have the best summer ever. Also, Steven Thrasher gives us the story of the Hebrew Language Academy, a public charter school in Brooklyn where black and white kids (Jewish or not) learn everything in Hebrew and English. Thrasher says that "HLA is just one of several publicly funded yet privately run schools that raise questions about the separation of church and state." Our favorite part? A anecdote about the kids' classroom fun: "They yell at the top of their lungs, singing much louder off stage than they ever did in front of their parents. Braids are flying.
