Cabbie Allegedly Rapes Passenger in Williamsburg; Arrests in NYC Terror Case; Ron Paul Wouldn't Have OK'd Bin Laden Raid

• A cab driver allegedly tied up and raped a 26-year-old passenger in Williamsburg, around Rodney Street and South First Street, after she apparently fell asleep in his cab at 6 a.m. on Friday. "The suspect is described as a 40- to 45-year-old male who is approximately five feet eight inches tall, who wears a red and orange turban." According to reports, the driver also stole the woman's cell phone and $20 cash. [NY1, NYP]

Two men who had hoped to carry out a terrorist attack in New York were arrested yesterday in a sting operation. They'd tried to buy hand grenades and guns, and had talked about attacking a synagogue. An official described the suspects as "homegrown." [NYT]

• The mysterious armed man who washed up on Jones Beach to tell tales of being lost at sea has been ordered to be held on bail of $10,000 in a hospital bedside arraignment yesterday. Despite his story that his raft was detached from his fishing boat, according to the U.S. Coast Guard there were no reports of any missing boats. [NBC NY]

• Billion-dollar hedge fund manager and founder of Galleon Group Raj Rajaratnam was convicted on 14 counts of securities fraud yesterday in what's being called the biggest insider trading case ever. Rajaratnam faces up to 20 years in prison on each count. [WSJ]

Ron Paul says he wouldn't have given the OK on the raid against Osama bin Laden. He thinks that Barack Obama should have "worked with the Pakistani government" instead. [Politico]

• 91-year-old former Ohio auto worker John Demjanjuk has been found guilty of being an accessory to about 27,900 murders as Nazi camp guard at Sobibor in Poland during WWII. He was sentenced to 5 years in prison by a German court. [CNN]
