Amber Marie Collins, a/k/a Miss New York USA: Is She for Real?

Meet Amber Marie Collins. The 26-year-old is a graduate of NYU, she's a pre-school teacher, and she is New York's representative in the Miss USA pageant, which concludes tonight. She is also working it.

I love that she's going for something other than the frozen beauty-queen look, even if it lands in mental patient territory instead of the couture high fashion thing (it seems) she's going for.

However, what is going on here? Her alleged Twitter does not exist. Her Facebook says she's from Los Angeles. Something is rotten in the state of misogynist, demeaning beauty pageants. Oh! Donald Trump is behind this event for some reason; one bizarre thing begets another.

She is from Texas.  There is no requirement that you be from the state that you actually compete in, on the state level.  Winner of state pageant must participate in USA pageant.  No requirements for competing in state pageant except paying your entrance fee.
