Casey Neistat, NYC Cyclist, Crashes Into Shit on Video to Protest NYPD Bike Ticket Blitz

Casey Neistat created the above public service announcement in response to an ongoing issue: the NYPD's record-high ticket writing for cyclists, often for infractions that aren't really on the books as illegal in New York City. Neistat, like so many others, was hit with a $50 fine for not riding in a bike lane, although that's not always the safest place to be. And so he sets out to prove it with his body. The cop probably ticketed this guy for ridding a lame-ass bike.

Dear Frank, when's the last time you found the NYPD to be reasonable?  I mean, seriously? And NYCOSMO, IT IS NOT AGAINST NY LAW TO RIDE YOUR BIKE OUTSIDE OF THE BIKE LANE.  It IS however, illegal for you to drive in my bike lane.  Thanks for being understanding.

If I can get a ticket for car driving in a bike lane, bicyclists should be ticketed for not riding in it!

If there was an obstruction where he got the ticket, he wouldn't have been ticketed. He didn't mention any to the officer or show it to us, he just bitched about getting a ticket when others didn't. Entitled asshole.
