In what's sure to be a year-and-a-half of high-profile, overanalyzed gaffes, Michele Bachmann, one of the down home candidates attempting to drive the Republican clown car, doesn't really know that much about American pop culture or geography, shouting out Waterloo, Iowa's John Wayne -- "that's the kind of spirit I have too," she said, formally announcing her run for president. John Wayne, the movie star, has nothing to do with Waterloo, Iowa; John Wayne Gacy, the scary clown serial killer, called it home.
