Today Not Last For Mars Bar, Owner Says
Today is not the last for the Mars Bar, at least not according to owner Hank Penza who we talked to this afternoon at his perch outside the legendary dive bar. Penza said that the developer, BFC Partners, is going to give him five days notice, though he doesn't know when that will be. At about 2:15 p.m. the bar was lively, and Penza called out, "I'll be here tomorrow" to a patron who asked.

Meanwhile, the neighboring Joe's Locksmith's last day is tomorrow, John Filini, the son of the owner, explained. "I'll be open until 8 p.m. and then that's it," he said.
