Anthony Weiner Is Missed by Democrats...on the Baseball Field

Aw. Democrats long for much-maligned sext-scandalized former Congressman Anthony Weiner after all! Because, if nothing else, he was really good at baseball. Now that he's gone, Democratic politicians are concerned about their chances in the annual Congressional Baseball Game. Via the New York Post: "We miss Anthony. He was a star player," lamented Rep. Carolyn Maloney (D-Manhattan). "We need all the talent and all the help we can get," noted Rep. Gregory Meeks (D-Queens). Weiner had been a gum-chomping, Mets-gear-wearing "colorful" presence at the games, and that, it seems, will not be easily replaced. Either that or this was just a delicious opportunity for the Post to refer to Weiner's "big bat." [NYP]
