The New York Post and the New York Daily News both followed our story on the prior complaint filed against police officers Franklin Mata and Kenneth Moreno. And they cited the Voice story in their articles.

The UK Daily Mail also weighed in on the story. As did Gawker, Jezebel, NBC New York, CBS New York, Gothamist and others.

Mata and Moreno were acquitted in May of raping a drunken woman in 2008. The pair are awaiting sentencing on official misconduct conviction for returning to her apartment several times that night without telling their bosses. As the Voice article reported, prosecutors decided not to tell the jury about a previous complaint against them for being verbally abusive to another drunken woman.

Meanwhile, DNA Info is reporting that Moreno may still face heroin possession charges for two glassine envelopes of horse allegedly found in his precinct locker.
