Basically Every Subway Line Is Currently Delayed

Get excited for your evening commute. As of 5:45 p.m. the Metropolitan Transit Authority's website was reporting delays on the 1, 2, 3 line, the 4, 5, 6 line, the A, C, E line, the B, D, F, M line, and the N, Q, R line. Phew! According to City Room, problems were caused by "a manhole fire, signal problems, and a passenger found on the tracks." In shocking news, the L apparently has "Good Service." Update: Well, that was quick. As of 6:06 p.m. the MTA's website says all lines are good. We'd be suspicious, though, and plan accordingly. [NYT]

NYC has a huge subway system - When I first took train daily I started to appreciate how few days there are when there isn't an incident on any train line I travel near.

I took the F train in Brooklyn in the relatively peaceful part of town. Lo and behold , this morning I turn on PIX 11 , they said MTA shut down the trains because there was a gunfight at 18 Avenue  ~

But NOT the G! There's a first.

They just don't even bother reporting G train delays. If it ran on time that WOULD be a problem.
