The NYPD wants the public's help in locating a man wanted in connection with an attempted bank robbery on Friday, August 12 a little before 1 p.m. in the Bronx. The suspect attempted to rob a Capital One bank at 557 Melrose Avenue, where he stood in line for the teller. When he got to the front, he handed the teller a note demanding money. It didn't really work out so well for him.

The teller refused to give the suspect anything and he fled on foot empty-handed in an unknown direction.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic male between 30 and 40 years old, approximately 175 pounds and between 5'9" and 5'11", with a medium complexion. He was wearing a white button-down with a green collar, a Yankees hat, sunglasses, light jeans and white sneakers.

As always, anyone with info should call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477), visit www.nypdcrimestoppers.com, or send a text to 274637 (CRIMES) then enter TIP577.
