'Subway Parties' Are a Horrible Thing That's Happening

Things we don't understand: Why you would want to party on the subway. Why you would insist on doing it. Why your "parties" would involve streamers and party hats and saxophones and cramping into an overly air-conditioned fluorescent-lit space with a bunch of obnoxious people who are wearing face paint and tossing around beach balls instead of just hunkering down in a dark bar until you slide off the stool, alone. Why, why, why? There are many questions, but very few answers: Why would you record this douchery and put it on YouTube for all of posterity? If you have any (answers), get in touch. We'll be standing outside of a club on the Lower East Side, begging them to take their music back. [@thisisjendoll]

looks as if the originators of this moronic event pulled the video. Rightly so.

To those who say it was horrible and lame and only "transplants" do it: the people who have thrown this party for the past few years are all native Coney-Islanders.  It happens at midnight, on one car only, so nobody is getting disturbed during a commute.  If you want to sip latte and talk about how the world is turning to shit and complain, go right on ahead.  For the rest of us who want to enjoy our lives, we will continue to do so.  It's harmless fun, and we all cleaned up after ourselves afterwards.  It was actually more responsible than half the shows that happen in places like Rubalad.

Uploading to YouTube shows the true motives of this group.  I'm sure the same group of people attended the Lady Gaga concert the last time she was in town.  Grow up.

The fact you uploaded it to YouTube exposes your hunger for fame despite hiding behind a veneer of irony.
