Americans Are Cool, Says World's Coolest Poll
Have you heard of Badoo? It's "the world's largest social network," and though we don't talk about it too terribly much in America, because we are too cool for such things, it is talking about us! According to a recent online poll on Badoo.com, in which 30,000 people were asked to vote for the world's "coolest nationality," Americans were the coolest! Yay, us. Oh, actually, whatever. We're too cool to care.
Just a couple of Cool-mericans.
But, really. We question the results of this poll, which dubbed Spanish people the coolest Europeans, Brazilians the coolest Latin Americans, and Belgians the globe's least cool people. Belgians! Have you had Belgian beer, or Belgian fries? Have you gazed at the Manneken Pis, or spent any time whatsoever on FamousBelgians.net? How is Belgium not cool?
Well, anyway, America is full of plastic-shoe-and-red-white-and-blue-garment-wearing overweight adults and children who are very, very cool, mostly because they like Apple, Jazz, Blues, Surfing, Facebook, Ray-Bans, Harley Davidson, Levi's, Converse, the Sundance Film Festival, and The Wire. Also because we are the home of Barack Obama, Steve Jobs, Jay-Z, Lady Gaga, Johnny Depp, Quentin Tarantino, Marlon Brando, Quentin Tarantino, Steve McQueen, and Michael Jackson. And some of those people are, admittedly, somewhat cool.
You know what else is cool? Polls.
