Phoenix Temple Has Great Website, Allegedly is a Brothel [UPDATE]

UPDATE: The site referred to in our original post below, as well as in the CNN report on the Phoenix Goddess Temple, cannot be confirmed as the website of the recently investigated temple in Arizona. Please refer to this post from the Phoenix New Times for information on the arrests and investigation.

Police in Arizona have conducted a six-month investigation of the Phoenix Goddess Temple that has resulted in 20 arrests, CNN reports. A police spokesman says the temple was "trying to hide behind religion or church, and under the guise of religious freedom." Evidence showed that "male and female 'practitioners' working at the Temple were performing sexual acts in exchange for monetary 'donations,' all on the pretense of providing 'neo tantric' healing therapies." Luckily, their website is still up (for now), and it is a treasure trove of information about the temple's services. Light some candles, slip into something a little more comfortable, and break out the sensual oils: You're about to take a trip to the sexiest temple in the West.

[UPDATE: As noted in the first paragraph, the following quotes are taken from a website that cannot be confirmed to have any connection with the Phoenix Goddess Temple]

Like most places of worship, the Phoenix Goddess Temple's website has a disclaimer that says, "This site contains educational material intended for a mature audience, you should be 18 years of age or older. Temple of the Goddess does not provide or participate in any illegal transactions or activities. In order to qualify for more focused, intensive work with a certified sexual surrogate, you must have a referral from a licensed psychologist or accredited psychotherapist."

Once you get by those pearly gates, you are welcomed to a temple that identifies itself as "an organization of Tantra facilitators, body workers, relationship and sexuality counselors, touch therapists, sex surrogates, intuitive healers, Certified Tantric Therapists, sex educators, counselors and healers who practice yoga and other systems of healing and empowerment."

The top menu bar lists ceremonies, including some of the following practices:

Tantric Temple Dance:
"The dancer channels her movements based on the energy you need, so it's very healing as well. Once she raises your energy, she works with you one-on-one using massage, breath & undulation techniques to move the heightened sexual energy through your entire body. You may feel tingling sensations, or waves of orgasmic energy flowing from your head to your toes."

Double Goddess Sessions:
"Almost all of the sessions can be 'doubled'. But we don't recommend starting off with a Double Goddess session if you are a novice in the area of Tantra. These sessions can be quite intensive, possibly dangerous if you are not used to running high levels of Tantric energy."

The Art of Divine Touch:
"Level Three will teach you how to give your woman the 3000 year old Tantric Sacred Spot Healing Massage, (G-spot), opening her up to her full orgasmic potential. You will also have an opportunity to review the Yoni Massage as well if you have taken that session."

"What they would talk about would seem to be religion. At the same time, they were implying or intimating that they were giving sex therapy," Phoenix police spokesman Sgt. Steve Marto said about the Goddess Temple website after a six-month investigation.

Police say they are looking for 17 more individuals related to the Goddess Temple.

New Times and their affiliated publications do some of the shittiest journalism ever. They seem unable to even do basic research and confirmation. Witness their naming a website that is not related to the Phoenix Goddess temple, and then doing an article based on it. New TImes, GO FUCK YOURSELVES AND YOUR YELLO)W JOUNALISM. Many good people have been harmed by your shitty journalism.

Sounds like a 'witch hunt' to me.  Right out of the old testament, demonize the competition anyway you can.  Don't forget, Big Brother is watching. The control freaks of the world have no moral limits on what they're willing to do to limit human liberty."an it harm none,do what you will'

The website you list is not the same website as the Phoenix Temple in AZ.  A bit shoddy  research friends....

The Catholic church raped thousands of children and moved known pedophile priests to positions where they raped other children.  Why doesn't the FBI investigate every Catholic church?

I am appalled that Tantra is being used in conjunction with this type of sex work. I am a Tantra practitioner and I DO NOT get naked with my clients nor them with me.Tantra is an ancient technology that is about harnessing energy and raising human consciousness not about erotic massage..Tanja Diamond

NICK GREEN!! The above site is not the site for the Phoenix Goddess Temple. You are involving a nonrelated site and people to something they have nothing to do with.

For some reason your comment reminds me of a line from "Catch 22":  "That's not the God I don't believe in!"  You don't seem to understand that while you're protecting your turf, you could be the next target of the inquisition.  They'll stick the equivalent of a yellow star on your sleeve at the drop of a mantra.  I understand that from your viewpoint these people are heretics, but what about the big picture?  You don't have a monopoly on raising human consciousness.  'an it harm none, do what you will'
