Street Closures for New York City Today

With the 9/11 commemoration taking place in lower Manhattan as well as two presidents' presence and the elevated security measures following a "credible, but unconfirmed" threat of a "vehicle-borne" terrorist attack, there are a myriad of street closures in New York today. Plan for a complicated commute all day, with unforeseen security measures being a very real possibility. After the jump, a list the locations and times of street closures.

The following are from NYC.gov. Other streets are closed for construction and other reasons around New York today, but these are the ones that are related to the memorial events downtown:

Northbound West Street between Battery Place and Murray Street: This street will be closed Friday September 9, 11:59pm through Monday September 12, 5am.

Southbound West Street between Battery Place and Chambers Street:
This street will be closed Sunday September 11, 5am through Monday September 12, 5am.

Church Street/Trinity Place between Rector Street and Barclay Street:
These streets will be closed Sunday September 11, 5am through 5pm.

Vesey Street and Liberty Street Pedestrian Bridges:
These pedestrian bridges will be closed throughout the day on Sunday September 11. To cross West Street, pedestrians will be directed north to cross at Warren Street or south to cross at Rector Street.

The following streets will be closed to traffic and parking from Saturday September 10 at 8am through Sunday September 11, 8pm. Pedestrian access will be very limited.

• Vesey, Fulton, Dey and Cortlandt Streets between Church Street and Broadway
• Liberty Street between South End Avenue and West Street and between Greenwich Street and Broadway
• Albany Street between South End Avenue and Greenwich Street
• Cedar Street between Greenwich Street and Broadway
• Thames Street between Greenwich Street and Broadway
• Carlisle Street between West Street and Greenwich Street
• South End Avenue between Liberty Street and Thames Street
• Washington Street between Albany Street and Rector Street
• Greenwich Street between Liberty Street and Rector Street
