The Community Living Assistance Services and Supports Act, or CLASS, has been cut from the health care bill signed by Obama in 2010. The program relied on monthly premiums and would offer protection to those who signed up. CNN reports that Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius announced CLASS had to be removed because it was determined to be unviable in the long-term. In a letter to Congress, Sebelius wrote, "This could have led to a vicious cycle where premiums would have to be set higher and higher to cover the likely costs of benefits, leading fewer and fewer healthier people to sign up for the program." Bishop Robert W. Finn of the Diocese of Kansas City-St. Joseph was indicted yesterday by a grand jury for failing to report child abuse. The New York Times reports Finn knew a priest had been accused of taking a lewd photograph of a young girl but did not properly report it. He reportedly knew of the incident in December, but did not involve police until May. During that time, the priest "is said to have continued to attend church events with children, and took lewd photographs of another young girl." [NYT]

A memorial for Steve Jobs has been scheduled for tomorrow. The event is private, and the Wall Street Journal reports it will be "attended by Silicon Valley luminaries and others close to Mr. Jobs." The service will occur on the campus of Stanford University, and it follows the funeral held for Jobs last week.

A drone attack in Yemen is reported to have killed multiple Al Qaeda-linked operatives, including the son of Anwar al-Awlaki. Abdul Rahman al-Awlaki is said to be one of "four other members of the al-Awlaki clan [who] also were killed in the drone attack," the AP reports. Anwar al-Awlaki's killing late last month sparked controversy because the cleric was an American citizen.

It's expected to be windy and clear today, with highs in the sixties. [TWC]
