Steve Jobs Portrait Already in National Portrait Gallery

The deification of recently deceased Steve Jobs continues apace. A 1982 portrait of the Apple chief by Diana Walker is now being displayed on the first floor of the National Portrait Gallery at the Smithsonian. It's a pretty amazing photo:

The photo was taken a few years before Jobs left Apple in 1985 (he returned in 1996).

The Smithsonian copy reads:

With spellbinding showmanship, Jobs set out to "make a dent in the universe," and over the next several years introduced the iPod, the iPhone, and the iPad--products that transformed the consumer electronics industry. His entrepreneurship stressed design, and Apple products are known for their functional elegance.

When can we expect the national monument?
