What Was Google Buzz, Again?

google buzz.jpg
A little-known Google product called "Buzz" is finally being put out of its misery. Our experience of Google Buzz: we clicked on it accidentally one time when trying to click on our inbox. They're also getting rid of iGoogle, which, no idea.

On Google's company blog, VP Bradley Horowitz intones:

Changing the world takes focus on the future, and honesty about the past. We learned a lot from products like Buzz, and are putting that learning to work every day in our vision for products like Google+. Our users expect great things from us; today's announcements let us focus even more on giving them something truly awesome.

This is all so that they can devote more of their considerable energies to Google Plus, a product that makes slightly more sense.

Farewell, Google Buzz.
