Rex Ryan to be Fined At Least $75K For Telling Fan to "Shut the Fuck Up"

Coach Ryan's last indescretion.
ESPN is reporting the NFL plans to fine Jets head coach Rex Ryan between $75,000 and $100,000 for swearing at a fan last week at MetLife Stadium. Ryan was walking off the field at halftime during Sunday night's game against the New England Patriots when someone in the stands yelled, "Hey, Rex, Belichick is better than you." Ryan, being the shrinking violet he is, responded by yelling, "Shut the fuck up." Naturally, this was caught on a camera phone, and you can watch it here, on the Internet, after the jump.

Because NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell has the Internet too, he's seen the video and is deciding how hard to hammer Ryan's wallet.

An ESPN source indicates "the fine will come in north of the $50,000 the Jets fined Ryan when he made an obscene gesture to fans at a mixed martial arts event in Miami during Super Bowl week in 2010 and will be at least $75,000."

The real loser here isn't Rex Ryan or the Jets (who lost 37-16), but rather that poor fan. To think, a trip to New Jersey resulted in hearing a swear word.
