Finally, It Is 'Seasonably Chilly' (And It Might Snow)

WTF, weather? For days we've been sashaying about complaining and/or rejoicing (whether we're feeling glass-half-empty or glass-half-full) about the bizarre temperate weather. Our actual winter coat has only been worn, like, twice! But today, in weird conjunction with the MTA's announcement that they'll be better about the winter this time, they promise, comes a winter weather advisory from our friends in the know. It might snow, and it's definitely going to drop quite a few degrees. In fact, it already has.

It is also going to continue to rain and be generally gross, so your best bet is to get to where you're going (the Village Voice Web Awards, mayhaps?) and enjoy yourself there for a time sufficient enough to forget about the weather.

The Sanitation Department, in a fit of preparedness, has issued a "snow alert" for some possible overnight snow, just in case. There's also a winter weather advisory and a flood watch in effect for parts of New Jersey. 3 to 5 inches of snow is predicted in the higher elevations of northwest New Jersey and the Hudson Valley -- though forecasters doubt New York City will get much, or any.

We suggest a coat, an umbrella, and tomorrow's supply of Blowfish.
