Village Voice Web Awards: Announcing the Finalists for Best Neighborhood Blog

WAcenterimage-revised.jpg
We're gearing up for the Village Voice Web Awards this coming Wednesday, and we'd like to take a moment to recognize the finalists for a category near and dear to our hearts: best neighborhood blog. Last year's award went to our pal EV Grieve, who continues to do amazing work. He was a judge this year, helping to decide between the worthy nominees...drumroll please...and here are our four finalists!

• Bowery Boogie
Fucked in Park Slope
• Jeremiah's Vanishing New York
• West Side Rag

Congrats to the nominees and finalists; you are all awesome. Stay tuned for next week's announcement of the winners for all categories, including best Twitter, best Tumblr, best Internet persona, Tweet of the year, and more...plus special honorary awards. Yay.

Technically, JVNY isn't a neighborhood blog, per se: he doesn't blog on one particular neighborhood -- he blogs mostly what's disappearing in NYC, which encompasses all 5 boroughs of NYC. I'd say his is more of a personal blog. Best wishes to all finalists -- they're great, nonetheless. Hope there'll be a special award or shout-out to Bob Arihood.

No party this year? Still have a foam finger and a now 1-yr-old four loko that I got as part of the party favors. Thanks, btw, a year later...
