BitTorrent Behemoth BTjunkie Bites the Dust
File-sharing fave BTjunkie has signed off the Web forever today, after its owners decided to pull the plug amid legal action against similar sites MegaUpload and The Pirate Bay, TorrentFreak reports.

"This is the end of the line my friends. The decision does not come easy, but we've decided to voluntarily shut down. We've been fighting for years for your right to communicate, but it's time to move on. It's been an experience of a lifetime, we wish you all the best," BTjunkie posted on its main page earlier today.
The site was a popular hangout of Internet-goers for seven years. The RIAA and MPAA didn't bring legal action against it, but did report the venue to the U.S. Trade Representative in 2011, TorrentFreak notes.
Although BTjunkie is said to be among the top five sharing sites, TorrentFreak speculates that another medium will quickly step in to replace it.
