Dominique Strauss-Kahn's scandal has already inspired a Law & Order: SVU episode, but now it's going to become a film starring Gérard Depardieu as the former International Monetary Fund head. According to the AFP, director Abel Ferrara told Le Monde about plans for the film, which he said would shoot in New York, Paris and Washington.

Those locations, Ferrara said, are the "places of power."

"It's a film about the rich and powerful," he said.

French actress Isabelle Adjani is going to play Strauss-Kahn's wife, Anne Sinclair, now the editor of Le Huffington Post. (Arianna cameo, perhaps?)

Back in December, when Depardieu's involvement was still just rumored, Deadline.com reported that the script: "could include elements inspired by the lives of other politicians like Bill Clinton and Silvio Berlusconi along with Strauss-Kahn."

In case you've forgotten the story -- to which we say, "seriously?" -- Strauss-Kahn was arrested in May in connection with the sexual assault of a maid, Nafissatou Diallo, at the Sofitel New York. After a series of twists and turns throughout the summer, the case was dismissed in August.

Though part of us wants to yell "too soon," and part of us thinks this is the kind of thing that usually makes great made-for-TV fare, we're also interested to see what's going to happen. Part of us also just wants to watch the video of Anderson Cooper cracking up at Gérard Depardieu jokes:
