Uproar Over Bronx Teen's Death By Police Officer; Bloomberg Supports Komen's Reversal; Occupy D.C. Raided

Bronx residents rallied last night to protest the death of Ramarley Graham, an unarmed 18-year-old that was shot and killed by a police officer Thursday in the bathroom of his own apartment. According to the New York Times, the officer that killed Graham has been "stripped of his gun and badge." NBC New York reports that the officer and his sergeant, also relieved of his gun, have been put on desk duty. In response to the shooting, community leaders are scheduled to meet with NYPD today. Mayor Michael Bloomberg, who already supported Planned Parenthood with his pocketbook, spoke out on the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Foundation's decision to reverse its decision to cut Planned Parenthood funding. "I think they did the right thing by restoring the funding, and in the end, that's what really matters," Bloomberg said. [NY1]

The Occupy D.C. camp at McPherson Square was raided early Saturday morning and at least three protesters who refused to leave were arrested. (Update 9:48 a.m.: The Washington Post four were arrested.) [Gawker, WP]

Meanwhile, in other Occupy news, the four occupiers that were arrested at last weekend's "Occuparty" were indicted with felonies Friday. [NYDN]

Newt Gingrich took a jab at New Yorkers Friday, specifically singling out "elites" who live in "high-rises" "ride the subway." Apparently, he's never heard of town cars. [NYDN, CNN]
