Here's a tip for anyone considering raping an 8-year-old: don't friggin' do it! And then throw yourself in front of a bus.
That advice probably would have come in handy for convicted kid-raper Carlos Quezada, who will be a guest of the state for the next 22 years to life after being found guilty of charges that he raped an 8-year-old girl.
Queens Supreme Court Justice Gregory L. Lasak handed down his sentence for Quezada, 29, yesterday, after a jury found him guilty in February of predatory sexual assault against a child, first-degree rape, first-degree sexual abuse and endangering the welfare of a child.
"[The] sentence is more than justified as it is necessary in order to
protect society from this individual who has proven himself to be a
danger to the public. There is no room in a civilized society for
predators such as [Quezada]," Queens County District Attorney Richard
Brown says.
On January 28, 2011, Quezada -- who was a friend of the victim's family -- raped the 8-year-old girl at a home in East Elmhurst. We'll spare you the repulsing details.
The good news is Quezada will be off the streets for the next two decades -- at least. The better news is there are certain hierarchies amongst criminals -- and we hear raping kids is typically frowned upon by the majority of the inmates at state correctional facilities -- where Quezada could potentially spend the rest of his life.
